Hot Tips: Scented Candle Safety
We understand that the safety of your family and home is one of your highest priorities. It’s one of ours as well, which is why we meticulously test our scented candles and wax melts at every stage of production. We want to assure you that our products are designed to meet your standards and are worthy of the trust you place in us whenever you choose to light a Tuscany® candle.
Here are some candle safety tips that will ensure you can enjoy your Tuscany Candles safely:
- Remove packaging:
- Remove the candle from the packaging before lighting it.
- Trim the wick:
- Trim the wick to at least 1⁄4 inch before burning to prevent uneven burning, dripping, or flaring.
- Choose your burn location carefully:
- Keep candles out of reach of small children and pets.
- Always burn on a heat-resistant surface to prevent heat damage to furniture.
- Keep the candle away from combustible materials such as curtains and plants.
- Use your candles in draft-free areas.
- Our candles are recommended for indoor use.
- Don't use a damaged candle:
- Scratched or cracked jars can break when exposed to candle flames.
- Never allow the wick's flame to touch the jar, as it can cause breakage and become hot to the touch.

- Handle with care:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Do not move or touch a jar candle with visible (liquid) hot wax.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, or any other combustible material.
- To prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface, discontinue the use of your scented candle when 1/2" of wax remains.
- Ensure your candles are completely extinguished and the wicks no longer glow before leaving the room.
- Use a snuffer or metal lid to extinguish your scented candle. Blowing it out may damage the wick or spray melted wax.
